Umbhoxo Wethu uncovers the hidden history of Black rugby in South Africa, centred on the Eastern Cape — where the game was never just a game. Through oral histories, lived memory and the voices of those who carried this history forward, the film traces the players, communities and traditions that built a sporting culture the record forgot to mention.
